Now that the interview/freestyle portion of XXL’s 2019 Freshman campaign is over with, the publication has now started to roll out the cyphers–kicking it off with DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion, YK Osiris, and Lil Mosey.
DaBaby previewed his verse back in April on Instagram, but as many have pointed out, the cyphers are not freestyles. Despite hearing parts of the verses before, viewers were still applauding DaBaby’s performance and lauding him as one of the best of the bunch.
Megan was the only female featured in her group, and she held her own against DaBaby, YK Osiris, and Lil Mosey. Megan spit in the cypher, “Speaking on my name only make it sound better, your n***a in my DM and he writing love letters.” You can check it out in full up top.
