In this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we want to introduce you to upcoming artist Kevonna Rose and her brand new single titled “In Between Kisses”.
Kevonna Rose is this amazingly talented soul/pop/r&b singer-songwriter from South Jersey with a real Lianne La Havas vibe. Dazzling listeners with her soulful vocals and carefully crafted tongue-in-cheek lyrics, the singer-songwriter won Essence Festival’s Show Your Range contest as well as the Wawa Welcome America contest, where she opened for Lauryn Hill, Common and more. Her live performances also earned her features on NPR Music’s Best Tiny Desk Submissions This Week and on SoFar Sounds’ Best of the Listening Room.
Kevonna’s new single “In Between Kisses” is a heartfelt soul-pop love song with an unmistakable tenderness and vulnerability. Showcasing Rose’s relatable songwriting and impressive vocal range, this soulful little love song is all about the early stages of a relationship: the will they/won’t they, the second-guessing, and the giddiness of it all. With glossy understated production and stripped back guitar, Rose’s vocals shine in the first track off her upcoming sophomore EP (due out in February).
